Medical Center Hospital provides pediatric services for acutely and chronically ill children, age infant to 16.  Because a hospital stay can be frightening for a child, pediatric care at MCH is family centered and health care workers strive to provide quality care in a reassuring atmosphere.

Care of the children is provided through a team effort of pediatricians, nurses, respiratory therapists and social workers.  An important and challenging aspect of the care of ill children is parent education.  A pediatric nurse is available to answer any questions the family may have regarding care, treatment and condition of the child. 

Pediatrics is a 22 bed unit, with both private and semi-private rooms, designed to encourage and enable parents to visit and remain with their children 24 hours a day.  The corridors of Pediatrics are decorated with bright colors and designed to delight young children. The unit is also equipped with a playroom furnished with toys for the children.  A portable game station is available for older children thanks to the generosity of the Starlight Foundation and Wal-Mart, as well as a PlayStation 2 donated by the Children's Miracle Network.
